Our Ministries For Children

Picture

Our school year ministry starts in October and continues until April. During the club time the children are taught a Bible lesson, songs, how to pray, and the importance of missions through a missionary story and learning about missionaries that they support with their offering. We rely on volunteers to teach the clubs, which are one hour in length and meet one day a week. We have several different types of clubs.

Good News Clubs - meet in homes, churches or other facilities.

After-School/In-School Good News Clubs - meet right after school on the school property, usually in the gym, library or cafetaria.

Released Time Class - meets during school hours but the children must leave school property to have class.

Church Related Club - anything that is held as a part of a regular church program such as Sunday School, Junior Church etc.

Preschool Clubs - specifically designed for preschoolers held in a church, home or daycare.

Summer is a busy time in Luzerne County. We have several ways in which we minister to the children.

5 - Day Clubs - held for one hour a day for a week. They take place anywhere a group of children can gather. During the club hour the children hear a Bible lesson, sings songs, learn a Bible verse, and hear a missionary story. We also use a puppet to encourage the children to enroll in our correspondence course so they can continue to grow in the Lord even after we leave them. The clubs are taught by our summer missionaries.

Camp Good News - a day camp that runs daily for one week for children ages 6-12. There are many activities for the children to enjoy at camp including Bible time, missiona time, team time, crafts, and recreation. They also learn Bible verses and earn points throughout the week to be used at the Camp Store on Friday.

Vacation Bible Schools - held in area churches. We assist the church by doing the Bible teaching and then the church will continue with crafts, games, and other activities they have planned for the children.
